Dr. Mark Scurria is a prosthodontist specializing in finding solutions for patients in need of complex restoration, denture or implant care. Originally from Pennsylvania and Ohio, Dr. Scurria has lived in North Carolina since high school and earned his undergraduate and DDS degrees from the University of North Carolina. After dental school, he went on to a VA General Practice Residency in San Antonio and then earned his prosthodontic specialty certification at the VAMC in Houston and the University of Texas Dental Branch.

Being a proud North Carolinian and Tar Heel fan, after specialty training, Dr. Scurria was pleased to join the faculty at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and lead the denture curriculum for seven years prior to entering private practice. Dr. Scurria left the university as a tenured Associate Professor with many notable research and scholarly publications to his credit.

When not in the office, Dr. Scurria enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, their teenage son and daughter and their oldest daughter, also a UNC alum, who works in advertising in New York City. They are a travelling family who have enjoyed houseboat vacations in Canada, France, Ireland and the Netherlands.

One thing is for sure, if you want an expert in “denture and implant dentistry” you’ve found him. Dr. Scurria has been providing digital dentures since 2015, and implant restorations since his first day in VA residency. He is an adjunct associate professor at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry and is Board Chair for a new non-profit clinic being built in Durham, Local Start Dental which is dedicated to providing denture and dental implant care for historically underserved patients and veterans.

Patients often say, to know Dr. Bruce Gray is to love him! Dr. Gray is a North Carolina native who has been practicing denture focused dentistry for over 30 years. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he received his bachelor's degree and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

When Dr. Gray isn’t in the office transforming smiles, you may find him golfing, kayaking, grilling or even coaching recreational sports. He’s also a family man and active in his community of Wendell, NC. He and his wife Virginia have spent many years in Wendell raising their two now grown sons, and Virginia happens to be the mayor!

One thing is for certain, Dr. Gray is passionate about providing a service to patients who need it the most. Many people consider Dr. Gray to be a “denture expert.” He has spent three decades perfecting the process to deliver beautiful smiles for individuals who are missing many or all of their teeth, and his ultimate goal is to restore their confidence and get them back to normal function.

Dr. Gray is a compassionate dentist, a community leader and he also educates other up and coming dentists as an adjunct professor at his alma mater, the UNC Adams School of Dentistry.
